Argentina is located in southern South America. Where is Argentina on the map? Argentina offers all the sights for tourists: jungles, forests, beaches, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, glaciers, deserts and multicolored hills. It has a vast plain called the pampas and the highest mountain in the Americas, which is the Aconcagua, of 6959 meters, located in the province of Mendoza.
Argentina's population is European in origin; an estimated 97% of the people are of European extraction, mainly Spanish and Italian. Also, there is an indigenous minority. The official language is Spanish. There are also indigenous people who speak the Araucanian and Mapuche.

El nombre de Argentina procede del latín argentum, que significa plata.

La Argentina ofrece todos los paisajes para el turista: selvas, bosques, playas, lagos, ríos, cataratas, glaciares desiertos y cerros multicolores. Posee una llanura inmensa llamada la región pampeana y la montaña más alta de América, el Aconcagua, de 6.959 metros, situada en la provincia de Mendoza.

El 97 % de la población es de origen europeo, principalmente español e italiano. También, hay una minoría indígena. El idioma oficial es el español. También hay pueblos indígenas que hablan el araucano y el mapuche.

La moneda de la Argentina es el peso. Un peso equivale a 3.85 dólares americanos.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, is one of the most important cities in Latin America. It is a cosmopolitan and multifaceted city that will surprise the visitor. It takes three days to get to know this city and the best time to visit it is during autumn or spring. The trip to Argentina Buenos Aires lasts 8 hours and 35 minutes from Miami, but it’s worth it. The city has a diverse cultural life: there are numerous museums, art galleries, cinemas and theaters with national and international shows. In addition, Buenos Aires is known for its night. Some nightclubs and bars stay open until dawn. Below is a list of things you can not miss the Argentina Buenos Aires .

1. Visit the neighborhoods. You must go to Palermo, San Telmo and Recoleta. The most modern fashion and decorations stores are in Palermo. It is a young and cool neighborhood. The epicenter of the area is Plaza Serrano, located in Honduras and Serrano. San Telmo is the oldest district of the city with cobblestone streets and colonial houses. There are several antique shops and art galleries. Recoleta is one of the nicest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires that combines elegant houses, restaurants and boutiques.

2. Colon Theatre. It is considered one of the most important theatres in the world in regard to its acoustics. It has hosted many international figures such as: Luciano Pavarotti, Arturo Toscanini, Maria Callas and Julio Boca. The colon has been closed for two years for renovations but will reopen its doors on May 25 to celebrate the bicentenary of the first government of Argentina.

3. Caminito. This street-museum of La Boca is a must. Visitors will be surprised to see houses made out of tin and painted in colors and will enjoy the artist, the painters and the tango dancers that perform in the street. Note: Caminito can be a tourist trap; it is not the real Argentina. Anyway, it's worth visiting. After strolling through Caminito we recommend eating the famous Argentinean asado (barbecue).

La ciudad de Buenos Aires, capital de la Argentina es una de las más importantes de América Latina. Es una ciudad cosmopolita y multifacética, que sorprenderá al turista. Se necesitan tres días para recorrer la ciudad y la mejor época para visitarla es durante otoño o primavera. El viaje a Argentina Buenos Aires dura 8 horas y 35 minutos desde Miami, pero vale la pena. La ciudad tiene una gran vida cultural: hay numerosos museos, galerías de arte, cines y teatros con espectáculos nacionales e internacionales de primer nivel. Además, Buenos Aires es conocida por su noche. Hay discotecas y bares abiertos hasta altas horas de la madrugada. 2. El teatro Colón. Es considerado uno de los cuatro teatros más importantes del mundo por su acústica. Luciano Pavarotti, Arturo Toscanini, María Callas y Julio Boca desfilaron por el escenario del teatro. El colón estuvo cerrado por dos años por reformas, pero volverá a abrir sus puertas el 25 de mayo, con motivo del bicentenario de la Argentina.

3. Caminito. Esta calle-museo del barrio de la Boca es un paseo obligado. Los turistas podrán observar las casas de chapa pintadas de colores y además hay vendedores, artesanos, pintores y bailarines de tango. Atención: Caminito es una especie de trampa para el turista, no es la verdadera argentina. De todos modos, vale la pena. Después de visitar Caminito recomendamos comer un buen asado argentino.

Landscapes of Argentina


Argentina is a large country with all types of landscapes from high mountains to colorful deserts. There are forests, jungles, vast plains, rivers, sea and beach. Here is a list of the best landscapes of Argentina.

1. El Calafate: It is located in the southwestern of Santa Cruz province, 2561 km from Buenos Aires (capital of Argentina). The best time to go is from April to October; and it takes four days to visit the area. 80 Kilometers away from Calafate, you will find the famous Perito Moreno glacier, a huge wall of ice of 60 kilometers high and five long. The glacier can be seen from the walkways and there is also the option of the Glacier Trekking. The company that organizes the trekking is Hielo y Aventura. You can also enjoy Viewing Cruises. There are several hotels to stay as Imago, Hotel Calafate and Sauces.

2. Iguazu Falls: This is one of the best known landscapes of Argentina. In fact, the Iguazú National Park is the most visited park of the country. The falls are located within the 67.000 acres that the park protects. You can visit the area in three days. Keep in mind when you are travelling: in summer the heat is excessive. You should visit the falls from March to October. We recommend going also to the Falls of Moconá, which are relatively close.

3. La Quebrada de Humahuaca: It is located in the north, in the province of Jujuy and it takes at least a week to visit the different towns. You should start with the town of Purmamarca, where the hill of the siete colores (seven colors) is, and then go to Tilcara, the largest town in the Quebrada that still maintains its bohemian spirit. Then go to Humahuaca and Iruya, in the province of Salta, one of the most magical places in the country.

Paisajes de Argentina


La Argentina es un país extenso con todo tipo de paisajes, desde altas montañas, hasta desiertos coloridos. Hay bosques, selvas, llanuras inmensas, ríos, mar y playa. A continuación, una lista con los mejores paisajes de Argentina.

1. El Calafate: está ubicado en el sudoeste de la provincia de Santa Cruz, a 2.561 kilómetros de Buenos Aires (capital de la Argentina). Las cataratas se encuentran dentro de las 67 mil hectáreas que protege el parque. La zona se puede visitar en tres días. Hay que tener en cuenta la época del año a la hora de viajar: en verano el calor es excesivo. Conviene visitar las cataratas de marzo a octubre. Recomendamos ir a los Saltos del Moconá, que se encuentran relativamente cerca.

3. La Quebrada de Humahuaca: Se encuentra en el norte del país, en la provincia de Jujuy y se necesita al menos una semana para recorrerla. Conviene empezar por el pueblo de Purmamarca, donde está el cerro de los siete colores y luego ir a Tilcara, el pueblo más grande de la Quebrada, pero que mantiene su espíritu Bohemio. Recomendamos seguir por Humahuaca y luego ir a Iruya, en la provincia de Salta, uno de los lugares más mágicos del país.
