Where is Buenos Aires? Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina, located in the South American continent, latitude 34 º 36 'and longitude 58 º 26'. The city extends on a plain and has an area of 202 square km. It has about 3 million inhabitants. If the metropolitan area is considered, the population exceeds 10 million, making it one of the 10 most populated urban centers in the world.

Where is Buenos Aires? Buenos Aires is located on the right bank of the river Río de La Plata, 19.4 km from north to south and 17.9 kilometers from east to west. The City of Buenos Aires is an autonomous city, and one of 24 districts that divide the country.

It has its own government and its own police. The City of Buenos Aires had two foundations. The first one in 1536, by Pedro de Mendoza (the city was destroyed by Indians in 1541), and the second one in 1580 by Juan de Garay.

Where is Buenos Aires? Buenos Aires is bordered by Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. Spanish is spoken and the people of the city are called porteños (people of the port).

Buenos Aires is the political, administrative, commercial and cultural center of the country. Its streets reflect both the historical heritage and the latest trends in fashion or design. The city is also one of the cultural centers of Latin America. There are many museums, theaters and libraries.

It also has an intense academic activity, as some of the most important Argentine universities are based in Buenos Aires. It should be noted that Buenos Aires was chosen as City of Design in 2005, by the Unesco.
