Buenos Aires Argentina

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. It is a magnificent city that offers many activities for tourists. It is called the Queen of Plata, because is located on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, a river with light brown water and the widest in the world.

The most beautiful time to travel to Buenos Aires Argentina is from autumn to spring. It takes at least three days to visit the city, although you will enjoy it more if you take five days.

The best option to explore Buenos Aires is by dividing it into neighborhoods. Microcentro and Retiro are the heart of downtown. They are the most bustling neighborhoods from Monday to Friday and an ideal place for shopping. Buenos Aires is a city that offers all kinds of products for the tourist. You can find leather, clothing, ethnic accessories and silverware, among others. Florida Street is a shopping district. Between Plaza San Martin and Cordoba there are the most important shops of Buenos Aires Argentina. You will also find the Galerias Pacifico shopping mall.

San Telmo and Montserrat are the oldest neighborhoods of the city. You'll find cobblestone streets and colonial houses and also lots of antique shops, art and tango galleries. We recommend going to the Antiques Fair in San Telmo on Sundays and also drinking a cold beer at the Plaza Dorrego.

Another area to visit is Palermo. It is delimited by the avenues Santa Fe, Cordoba, Scalabrini Ortiz and Dorrego, but in recent years the district grew so much that it was divided into three sectors: Palermo Viejo, Palermo Hollywood and Palermo Queens. Musicians, artists and intellectuals live in Palermo. The epicenter of Palermo is Plaza Serrano, located in Honduras and Serrano.

We also recommend visiting Recoleta, the most distinguished neighborhood of the city, with broad avenues, parks and French style buildings. There are several interesting sights like the Recoleta Cemetery, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palais de Glace.

  1. Wow! I want to buy my plane tickets today. I never new there were so many great things to do and see in Argentina. Buenos Aires sounds so full of life and culture. It sounds like there are great shops and historical sights that are easily reachable. I did not realize that the Rio de la Plata is the widest river in the world, that alone is a good reason to go. I could have my picture taken next to it and add it to my been there, done that photo album. I really like this other travel blog, it has great information.
