What is the size of Argentina?


Argentina is the seventh largest country in the world and ranks fourth among American countries. Only Canada, U.S. and Brazil are larger than Argentina. What is the size of Argentina? The continental territory has an area of 2,791,810 square kilometers, which includes the 11,410 km ² of the Falkland Islands, occupied by the United Kingdom and that Argentina claim. Argentina also claims sovereignty over the South Georgia and South Sandwich islands, also under British occupation, and over a portion of the Antarctica. What is the size of Argentina? Argentina's sovereignty extends to 3761.274 square kilometers.

Argentina has a great diversity of landscapes as deserts, mountains, plateaus, plains, rivers, lakes and forests and jungles.

Across the western edge of Argentina, there is the Andes mountain range, the highest mountain range outside Asia. The Andes is a natural border with Chile. The highest mountain in the Americas is the Aconcagua, with 6960 meters high.

In the east of the country, landscapes are varied. In the Northeast there are the famous Iguazú Falls, located in the province of Misiones, and on the border with Brazil. The climate is subtropical and fauna is great: there are all kinds of birds, alligators, snakes and capybaras. A little farther south, in Entre Rios, the vegetation is similar, but slightly less dense.

Also in the east you will find Buenos Aires, the capital of the country. It is a city of three million people that receives tourists from all around the world. It is cosmopolitan, open and its streets resemble Paris. It is the economic and cultural center of the country. Buenos Aires is one of the most important cities in Latin America and is worth visiting it.

Buenos Aires is in the pampas region, like Santa Fe and La Pampa. This region is characterized by broad plains. It is an area of crops and livestock and the richest in the country.
