Flying to Buenos Aires

The international gateway for tourists traveling to Argentina is usually Ministro Pistrani Airport in Ezeiza, where flights arrive to Buenos Aires.

Flying to Buenos Aires is easy, there lost of direct flights but it takes a long time. From Miami, for example, the journey lasts 8 hours and from London can take up to 16 hours. But the waiting is rewarded by a multi-faceted city. Buenos Aires surprise tourists with its wide range of cultural and its many activities.

Flying to Buenos Aires from Miami cost about $ 800, but if you book early you can find great deals. Citizens of Australia, Canada and USA must pay a "reciprocity fee" (not a Visa). The Argentine government set the rate of application by an amount equivalent to that paid by Argentina for the application for Visa to those countries.

With regard to the baggage hold, regional and international flights allow to check 20 kg of baggage and 5 kg of hand baggage. Since these are policies set by the airlines, for more information you should consult your airline.

Since March 1 2009, each passenger must pay the rate of use of the International Ballooning airline when buying the ticket. Children under 2 years and an transit passengers do not have to pay the fee.

In Ezeiza International Airport, the Banco Nación, located inTerminal A (arrivals) is open 24 hours to perform currency exchange.

We recommend to use only the official transportation of the airport, because the other ones tend to cheat tourists. The journey to Microcentro in the Manuel Tienda Leon´s mini bus costs 50 pesos. A taxi costs $ 50.
