The best way to visit Buenos Aires is to take a bus or the subway to the desired area, and there, explore on foot. The city's public transport is cheap and efficient.

Due to the constant traffic jams, It makes no sense to rent a car to visit the center of Buenos Aires because of the heavy traffic. Also drivers are usually pretty impatient and accidents are common.

Having a car can be very convenient for trips outside the city. For example, visiting the countryside or go to Tigre, in the north of Buenos Aires.

Drivers must be over 21 years, although some companies limit the age to 25 years. Rentals in Buenos Aires accept any valid driver's license, however, it is recommended to have an International Driving License. If you plan to rent a car during the weekend or holidays, it´s best to book in advance.

There are several parking lots in downtown, but they are expensive. They cost approximately 10 pesos an hour. The other option is to park on the street, but finding a site is very difficult and you must pay the meter. Generally, hotels have their own garage.
